Apple Pie Energy Balls

Autumn is my favorite season. It’s not too cold or too hot, but still cool enough to let me have a strong urge (comparatively) to make food.

And when it comes to the Fall season, nothing reminds me better than apples. Maybe it’s due to its red-orange appearance.

Anyhow, there’s just something in apples that gives me the autumn vibe. So here are the Apple Pie Energy Balls!

Ingredients for Apple Pie Energy Balls

These Apple Pie Energy Balls are made with 7 simple ingredients. They are:

  • Rolled Oats
  • Walnuts
  • Pecans
  • Apple Pie Spice (Homemade Recipe or Store-bought/affiliate link)
  • Almond Butter (Use organic or bee-friendly almonds if you can.)
  • Maple Syrup
  • Fresh Apples

I was going to say that you could use either pecans or walnuts for the nut part. But after a second thought, I think I will stick to the 7-ingredient title. The flavor is just a little bit different without one of them.

And I think we could agree that maple syrup is a must in apple pie, so does in this apple pie energy balls, right?

How to Make Apple Pie Energy Balls

It’s really easy to make these apple pie energy balls. We just need to:

  1. Chop the oats and nuts in a blender (I use Vitamix with the 64oz container) or food processor first.
  2. Add the apple pie spice. Give it a mix.
  3. Add the rest ingredients and mix to bring all together.
  4. Scoop out a tablespoon of the mixture and shape it into a ball. Repeat to finish all.

You can enjoy these apple pie energy balls immediately or put them into the fridge for 20 minutes to harden up a little bit. I personally prefer to enjoy them cold so that’s what I usually do.

A small tip to bring more flavor: You can toast the nuts in the oven for 10 minutes at 150 C / 300 F first. Toasted nuts really bring more flavor to these balls. Or you can just buy pre-toast ones.

These apple pie energy balls are also freezer-friendly. You can make a bigger batch and store them in the freezer.

Whenever you want something sweet with a spice note, take them out from the freezer and let them defrost about 5 minutes before applying to mouth.

Apple Pie Energy Balls (7 ingredients)

These apple pie energy balls are really amazing with the nutty and fall flavor. The sweetness from the apple and maple syrup is so good that I seriously just ate two balls once I had the first bite.

If you want to have something sweet which tastes like autumn, these apple pie energy balls are here for you!
