這天剛好要到中山區這附近,難得一陣子沒到這一帶了,想說吃點東西,就查到這家位在長春市場附近的正饌素食,看到不少人評論他們的包子不錯,而且有我愛的黑芝麻包,所以就衝來買來吃吃看了。

This day I got to do some errand in the Zhongshan District. I felt that I hadn’t been eating out for a while, so I decided to eat something before I left. I did some googling and found this Zheng Zhuan Vegetarian Diner (正饌素食) that featuring vegetarian/vegan baozi and meals. So here I went.

這家正饌素食是位在中山區遼寧街上,近長春市場、興安公園附近,算在捷運南京復興站和中山國小站之間。這天是非用餐時間的平日下午時段來,所以沒什麼人,但這邊附近的店家下午好像都沒有休息。

This Zheng Zhuan Vegetarian Diner is on Liaoning Street, near Changchun Market and Xing’an Park. The location is kind of in the middle of MRT Zhongshan Junior High School Station and Nanjing Fuxing Station.

I arrived here in the afternoon so not many people around. But it seems that the diners in this area don’t take any break in the afternoon.

到店面的時候,就能感覺到這家正饌素食有明顯「歲月的痕跡」,店家感覺滿老舊的,但這或許也就是一種老店的懷舊氣息,讓人想來回味。

When I arrived at Zheng Zhuan Vegetarian Diner, I immediately got the “Taiwanese-old-time” vibes. The wall is mottled and the floor is stained with long-time grease. It doesn’t look very clean and nice, but I think that these are the historical evidence that brings people to come here over and over again.

這裡除了販售包子、饅頭外,正饌素食還有販售酥餅點心、麵食、冬粉、水餃等。都是素食,大致看過去感覺也滿多都是 vegan 的。

包子饅頭價格一顆 NT.20,酥餅 NT. 30,主食類在 NT.45 – 100 間,覺得在台北市這個價位差不多。

Besides baozi (steamed buns) and mento, Zheng Zhuan Vegetarian Diner also has some Chinese pastry snacks, noodle dishes, and dumplings. Most of them are vegan and some are vegetarian.

The price is quite reasonable considering they are in Zhongshan District, Taipei City. Baozi and mento are NT.20 (about USD 0.65) each and NT.30 (about USD 0.98) for Chinese shortbread. The price of the main meals ranges from NT.45-100 (about USD 1.5-3.3).

後面可以看到眾多躺在架上的包子與饅頭,說明饅頭和包子的也都是在這裡製作的。一旁有電風扇在吹涼。

You can see there are tons of baozi and mento on the cooling rack on the back, which means all of them are made here, not “shipped” here.

我買了兩個包子:雪菜包、芝麻包。比較可惜的是,買的時候詢問是否有熱的,店家說沒有,因為出爐時一定會吹電風扇,這應該算是個小可惜點,但當時走了一段路了覺得當下還是想吃,所以就停下來,決定來吃雪菜包。(請忽略背景的 Youbike)

I bought two buns: salted mustard greens steamed buns (which is made of a green call “Xuě lǐ hóng” ) and black sesame steamed buns. It’s a shame that they don’t have hot buns because they used fans to cool down the buns once they are finished.

I was thinking about reheating them after I got home. However, after walking for a while, I still had the urge to eat the buns. So I just stopped and ate the salted mustard greens steamed buns. (So you probably could understand why there are Youbikes in the background.)

扒開包子,可以看到正饌素食的雪菜包餡料滿多的,而且菜葉顏色很鮮綠。

吃了一口,不知道是不是因為冷掉的關係,所以吃起來感覺稍油一些,但味道是不錯的,吃的到雪菜的鮮味與一點點胡椒的淡淡辛香,鹹度也算適中,裡頭好像還有加一點豆皮。

我吃了一點,後來剩下的帶回家蒸熱,覺得麵皮真的熱的比較好吃,口感膨鬆但還是有我喜歡的緊實口感,只是建議不要蒸過久,因為我不小心蒸太久,結果裡頭的菜餡就有點過爛。

I ate some and it’s a bit oily, which I think it due to the fact that it’s been cooled for a while. But the taste is not bad. The salted mustard green filling tastes fresh with a gentle white pepper spice undertone. The amount of salt is just right to bring out the flavor. There’s some tofu skin in the filling as well.

I reheated it after I got home and found that the steamed bun really tasted better. The bun is soft and firm at the same time, which is what I like. But be careful to not steam it for too long; otherwise, the filling wouldn’t taste fresh and great.

接著另一天早上來蒸正饌素食的黑芝麻包吃。喔忘了提,正饌素食的包子個頭不算小,大概和我的一個拳頭差不多大。蒸熱的包子白白的麵皮看起來真的很可愛。(笑)

一扒開來,馬上就看到有溼潤度的黑芝麻餡,讓身為芝麻控的我眼睛一亮。吃了一口,第一個感覺是有一點點甜,但再咀嚼過後就吃到黑芝麻本身的苦味,感覺就沒那麼甜了,搭配麵皮甜度還滿適中的;

而餡料的溼潤度很剛好,吃起來有油潤度,但又不會太油膩,整體有點像在吃芝麻湯圓的內餡,但有麵皮搭配,就感覺比較不厚重。這芝麻包很得我心,是我會想再來吃的黑芝麻包之一!

Tear in two, the black sesame bun reveal it’s black, moist filling, which totally caught my eyes. I took the first bite and the first thing I felt is that it’s a bit sweet (but remember that I usually drink plain soymilk and drinks). But after chewing for a while, the natural bitterness of the black sesame seed came in, which makes the overall taste well balanced.

I like that the filling tastes rich but not very oily. It really tastes like the filling of black sesame dumplings. But I love the bun version better because the bun makes the filling less dense. I really like this black sesame bun and I think I would buy it again if I go to the nearby place.
