Easy Vegan Cheese Sauce
I use to love cheese before I became a Vegan. I mean, who doesn’t? (No offense)
But after knowing the dairy industry, I know it’s not something I should hold on.
However, since there’s casomorphin in dairy products, it’s really hard to quit cheese in just a few days. So here is a Vegan Cheese Sauce recipe that is dairy-free and also delicious to help you with your cheese addiction! Even if you don’t miss the “regular” cheese sauce (I don’t), just make it because it’s really tasty.

Only 9 Ingredients
This vegan cheese sauce is easy to make and only requires 9 ingredients. Most of them are easy to find or even already sitting in your cabinet, especially if you’re living in a Western country.
If you’re not, don’t worry because I’m not. I get some of them by shopping online. It’s really convenient nowadays.

I’ve tried a few vegan cheese sauce recipes and some of them really not taste great and not like “cheese” to me.
But this cheese sauce recipe seriously tastes like common cheese sauce. And since there’s no dairy in there, no cholesterol, no casomorphin, no cruelty is involved. (He-yo)
You don’t have to feel guilty because there’s no bad thing in this vegan cheese sauce. Actually, it’s really healthy (nutritious) because there’s a vegetable inside that you wouldn’t taste in this vegan cheese sauce.
Do you want to know what it is?
OK, I’ll tell you. But take a guess first (for fun). It’s orange (hence the color), low in calories, and usually making people think of autumn. The last hint I think is pretty obvious.

Yes, it’s pumpkin, which is also one of my favorite vegetables.
You can use this vegan cheese sauce as you do to the regular one: Add it to your sandwich, serve as a dip with your tortilla chips or crackers (I love my Multi-seed Crackers), or dig in with a spoon if you like. BTW, I do that from time to time.

Easy Vegan Cheese Sauce (9 ingredients)
食材
- 60 g (½ cup) raw cashews 生腰果, soaked for 3-5 hours
- 260 g (1+⅛ cup) Golden Nugget squash/pumpkin puree 東昇南瓜泥, or steamed pumpkins 或蒸熟南瓜
- 60 ml (¼ cup) water 水
- ½ tsp onion powder 洋蔥粉
- ½ tsp garlic powder 大蒜粉
- 1 tsp dijon mustard 狄戎芥茉醬
- ½ tsp smoked paprika 煙燻匈牙利紅椒粉
- ½-1 tsp apple cider vinegar 蘋果醋
- 1 Tbsp nutritional yeast flakes 營養酵母
- ½ tsp salt 鹽
作法
- Drain out the water from the soaked cashews. Give them a rinse.
- Add the cashews along with other ingredients in a blend to blend until smooth.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate overnight for a firmer texture. Enjoy as a dip or sauce with things you prefer.
